The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) reported the average urban income reached $619,602 per person in Q3 2024. Buenos Aires demonstrated the highest per capita family income at $785,641.

The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) published a report highlighting that income distribution in urban areas reached $619,602 per person in the third quarter of 2024. This amount includes both the average incomes of men and women, with an average income for men of $720,852 and for women of $519,897.

In terms of income sources, more than 76.1% of the total came from labor income, while the remaining 23.9% was from non-labor income. The average income of all employed individuals, totaling 18.5 million people, was $588,011 per person. Within this group, 8.5 million are salaried employees with pension contributions and an average income in their main occupation of $781,652, while 5 million are salaried employees without pension contributions and an average income of $315,720 in their main occupation.

Regionally, the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires recorded the highest per capita family income at $785,641, followed by Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands with $524,235, and Neuquén with $514,451. Regarding the distribution of total family income among households, the province of Buenos Aires leads with 40.4%, followed by the City of Buenos Aires (14%) and Santa Fe (8.2%).

On the other hand, the largest difference in average total individual income between women and men was observed in the province of Santa Cruz at 44.5%, followed by Corrientes (34.8%) and the province of Buenos Aires (29.9%). In terms of total family income among households, the City of Buenos Aires topped the list with $1,868,462, followed by Neuquén with $1,512,293 and Tierra del Fuego with $1,423,565.
